QXL.com and Lycos Europe Agree Strategic Pan-European Relationship |

QXL and Lycos have teamed up in Europe to expand QXL's presence on the Lycos portal. QXL will become the Lycos Premier Auction Partner for Lycos' most prominent brands including Lycos and Tripod, across the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. It is expected that additional countries will be added. The agreement gives QXL a high profile presence on all Lycos sites, in particular key positions on the Lycos Home Page, Shopping Center and certain Lycos Directories. QXL will also be featured on the Tripod Home page, Shopping Zones, the Pods and the Buy/Sell Area. In total, the agreement will bring QXL high visibility on the Lycos services, which have in excess of 400 million page impressions. QXL.com is a pan-European online auction community. QXL.com enables buyers to bid on merchandise and services from across Western Europe, which are sold by QXL.com, QXL.com members and merchants. QXL.com also enables sellers to locate and trade with buyers in new geographic markets. On 16 May 2000, QXL.com announced the proposed acquisition of ricardo.de AG in a share-for-share exchange.
