Office Depot Launches First Voice-Enabled Internet Applications

Office Depot has launched the first voice-enabled Internet applications to use NetByTel's "Connected" services.

The first two NetByTel Connected applications let Office Depot customers call 1-888-GO-DEPOT, and through a series of quick voice prompts, order a catalog or locate a store in their area. If the project remains on track, customers will soon be able to buy products, find product availability, obtain order status, and use their new Supplies Quick-Find feature, all through this automated voice-enabled system.

NetByTel provides companies an automated, speech-enabled telephone interface to their e-business Internet applications, so a customer can call from anywhere and transact business over a wireline or wireless telephone, without requiring an Internet-connected computer or other digital device.

"NetByTel Connected serves the shopper who cannot always log on but prefers to shop online, as well as for the shopper who doesn't have PC access,"  said Neal Bernstein, CEO and co-founder of NetByTel.

Other NetByTel customers currently readying NetByTel Connected applications include Priceline.com, BigStar.com and Flooz.com.
